Sunbeam

Cat sits in the shadows

Sunlight creeps up the floor

He has been watching and waiting

For more.

Bright white and yellow

Growing larger, long and deep

Just about ready

For this furry fellow.

Slowly he rises, stretches in

Stretches out, then low

Arrives in his patch

Warm, golden glow.

At first he sits down

Assumes a yogi pose

Rolls over instead

Hangs a paw over his nose..

Now, soaking up heat

Dreaming cat dreams

Totally relaxed,

naptime in the sunbeam.
